What: The national retailer pays Crocker admission fees for everyone. Be sure to check out the museum's two newest exhibitions: "Treasures, Curiosities and Secrets: The Crockers and the Gilded Age" and "Meadows and Mountains," a retrospective of the paintings of William F. Jackson, the Crocker's first director and curator.

What: When they formed in Placerville in 1968, they took their name from a comment Paul McCartney made about wanting to "get back" to something pre-Beatlemania; they've been name-checked by no less than Brooks and Dunn in the hit song "Just Another Neon Night"; and now Sacramento's own Ricky and the Redstreaks (same Ricky, new 'streakers) are rockin' back into town.

PTDT Fall Concert 2009
What: The Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre, a Davis modern dance troupe, will present its fall concert featuring the premiere of the new dance "Show Your Work." The program will include such past favorites as "Solstice," which premiered in 1991 and focused on what many ancient religions considered the eight holy points of the year, and "The Buddy System," choreographed in late 2001 in response to the events of 9/11 and now updated to expand the concept of "buddy system" as not only necessary in emergencies but as to living a full life.
