Singer Donny Osmond performs in Bryant Park on ABC's "Good Morning America" show on Friday, August 15, 2008, in New York. Donny Osmond joined members of his family Monday, May 3, 2010 in Samaria, Idaho, to honor their mother with the dedication of the "Olive May Davis Osmond Cabin and Museum."

Members of the Osmond family gathered Monday in the small southeastern Idaho town of Samaria to honor their mother with the dedication of the "Olive May Davis Osmond Cabin and Museum."

Olive Davis Osmond was born 85 years ago in a two-room cabin in Samaria. She died in 2004.

Seven of her nine children joined fans from as far away as Japan to honor the singing family's matriarch and dedicate the log cabin as a museum. Items on display there include a sewing table that each of the Osmond brothers carved his initials into.

The cabin sits on property donated by local high school teacher Luke Waldron. Waldron says he restored the structure with "a lot of community involvement," including help from several Eagle Scouts.

Among the dedication attendees was Donny Osmond, who called the experience "surreal" and said, "You can feel her presence here."

Mexico singer caught at drug party breaks silence

Texas-based norteno singer Ramon Ayala says his arrest at a drug cartel party last month is a case of being in the wrong place.

In a statement Monday, he says Mexico's conflict over drug trafficking "puts everyone at risk of being in unpleasant situations" and he wants to stress that he has based his career on work and dedication.

Ayala says he can't comment on details of his arrest because the investigation continues. But his lawyer said previously that the singer didn't know he had been hired by drug traffickers.

Ayala and his band were performing at a house in the town of Tepoztlan when sailors raided it Dec. 11. Ayala, who lives in Hidalgo, Texas, was released after several days because of health reasons.
